Our journey began as colleagues, working in the Mathematics department at the same School, where we mutually recognised each others passion for teaching and efforts in addressing issues surrounding understanding of the core concepts. Conversations regarding the challenges faced by each of us as professionals in pushing our students to have a much deeper understanding of content delivered by teachers/tutors became more frequent and more pressing. We found that often it was not the student at fault, rather, it was the delivery of the content which was the issue. Hence our core principle of teaching for the concept was born. This idea of “Teaching for Concept” is and will forever be the underlying vision behind Maths Tree Tuition.
